6.3.3 Design Final: Portfolio

6.3.3 Design Final

If I had to say how difficult this one was, I would say it wasn’t too bad. After creating the iteration I think that the main thing that needs to be done for me is I need to make sure that pictures are sized properly to make sure that they fit in the project properly especially in the compilation on the one of the squares. The next thing that I did was use the picture I had from the concept and just shrunk it down and put it together within the same square. I notice also that there was a space leftover in that same square so I decided to use a small snippet from the fifth project which is the dragon that I used for that one and resized it to make it fit with the square. Then adding in smaller versions of the cropped photos to create some sort of timeline like thing. For that last square of this project I have had several thoughts of what to do for them especially what to do for the QR code. The important one is the QR code initially I thought about giving it its own square at the end, then I thought about adding it to the dragon in the other square and leaving the last one blank. In the end, I gave the QR code its own square because it helped me out a lot.

6.3.2 Design Iteration: Portfolio

6.3.2 Design Iteration

With the thought of the concept already I have gotten started on the last project and considering that this is the first part of Project 6. All I have done so far is assembled these together the initial template for the project and then it goes down to adding in the cropped photos from each of the projects. Slowly I added in the pictures and reshaped them to match the sizing of each block of the document starting from Project 1 all the way to Project 5. To me I think that it is a start. I thought about what could I add in to the that would make it better considering that this is just the beginning of this portfolio. I am thinking for the last two ones I could do a compilation of all of them and also a nice big picture from one of the projects on the bottom of the document. With that picture on the bottom I could do something special with that picture. In the last square of the document maybe I could add in a QR code that would link the project to a specialized folder that contain all of my projects in one single file. Let’s see how this could turn out in the end.

6.3.1 Design Concept: Portfolio

6.3.1 Design Concept

For the concept of this last project the objective is to gather all of the projects that I have been working on this entire semester. So, what I gathered was cropped up photos of the past five projects these cropped up photos and tried to combined them together into one whole picture. With the use of the other programs which include Illustrator and Photoshop I took all of the cropped photos that I had gathered from the past projects and made them into one photo but I also have them separated as well to eventually to put them together in one whole document. I would say that the best thing to have done is try to combine them all together and make something that would serve as my portfolio which in my thought would be a combination of all of my projects put together into one full document. In my opinion, I think that this would turn out very well. I figured that what I have to do to make this look the best way possible. Which would have to include putting things together of every single project that created and cropped out certain parts of the pictures of each project.

5.3.3 Design Final: Large Print

5.3.3 Design Final

To me I think that this project actually turned out really well. I think that there is something that can make it look even better but I can say for now that it looks very good to me. It was pure luck that the two pictures turned out very well and blended very well with each other. After blending the pictures together, both of the pictures had clouds on them so that blended nicely and the train station matched very well with the stranded house. The blending has made it become nice, and then I continued editing the picture even more to give it a nicer look with it. Then doing some techniques that give it the look that the house and tree from the first photo is in front of the second photo which contains the picture of the train station along with the tracks. It did not look like that when I did the blending but in the end it turned out that I had to use the paint brush to really blend in some of the scene with the other one. After the editing I added in a couple of elements to make it feel like it was a part of the movie which included the main character and a secondary character.

4.3.3 Design Final: Exquisite Corpse Round Robin

4.3.3 Design Final: Exquisite Corpse Round Robin

From the beginning of the of the project it had started out as simple scanning of my favorite items but then it turned into a nice artwork at the end of it. It was fun doing the round robin during those two weeks and I do hope that the two that I added into came out really well in the end because I just did some simple images. For mine in the end the two people that did mine did add some good elements into the scan and it gave me an idea of the kind of elements that I could use for the editing of the project in the end. Even though there wasn’t too much to cover I still wanted it to turn out in to some thing that I think I will be satisfied in the end. So after doing some editing of the photo I was surprised at the end result of the editing I know that there are empty spaces but I think that it leaves some sort of opening to enhance the picture even more. At its current state I think that the pictures that were added in gave it a sense of culture with the elements included.

3.3.3 Design Final: Mandala

3.3.3 Design Final: Mandala

My Mandala was a tricky one in the first place but I was happy to actually get it done. I am not an artist, so it was a little difficult for me to come up with a good idea but I was so happy when I came up with idea. After the concepts and the iteration, I keep the thought in my head of how I could be able to make it look even better. So, I went ahead and started tinkering with the concept and see what I could do to change it up so I got rid of a few symbols because the original 4 small ones were cool but they left a lot of negative space, and to me that was a lot of space wasted. That was when I got of two from each section and made each symbol a whole lot bigger which helped me out a lot. Plus I reedited my yin yang sign because the last one I did was by my hand but I was shown how I could make it with shapes and some editing tricks. Lines were redone and then coloring came easy because I had already thought about the color schemes I wanted to use for each section per the element. In the end, got rid of the lines and came up with this and the outline before the final is included in here as well.

2.3.3 Design Final: Thirteen Ways to Look at a Blackbird

2.3.3 Design Final: Thirteen Ways to Look at a Blackbird

I would say that this project was challenging from finding out how to create the concept by drawing out each stanza by how my mind would comprehend how much we could get done. Then after coming up with the concept it comes up to trying to creating the art using the various letters, numbers, and symbols to be able to create the concepts on Illustrator. The first thing that I did before I started creating the artwork is I had to rethink a few things for my concepts. There is not too many changes that makes it completely noticeable but some minor changes that I made does show the difference in some of the drawings. It was a lot of editing that I had to do because I wanted to make sure that I did the best that I can. During the process of creating things for the project I tried to make the project a little more fun by doing some things a little different and I gotta say I had a lot of fun with the project even though it was a little stressful creating it, but in the end I am happy with the result with how it turned out.

1.3.3 Design Final: rDNA

1.3.3 Design Final: Virtual Racer

I didn’t think that I would be making a post about a piece that I had thought of. When it does come to cars and video games I really do like them both and when it came to finding a topic choosing these two things and combining them together was something that I thought was enjoyable to work with for this project. This piece is called “Virtual Racer” the meaning is just the way it is racing in the virtual world. When video games came out it they were 8 bit games that we still remember to this day. Fast forward to the present we can see how much they have evolved making games look more realistic. For this project I wanted to show the beauty of the graphics of video games today especially when it came to racing games. I chose Gran Turismo not just because they are purely based on professional racing but they recreate tracks that that are seen exist in the real world. The story goes it is the beginning of the race and everyone is fighting for that chance to be at the top spot and you race every straightway and every turn passing other drivers. At that same time you want to appreciate the scenery of the track you are racing on. That is why in the game I took photos that have photogenic feel to it because they show how much video games have evolved to make places and vehicles in reality and bring them into the virtual world. I feel like there are still some improvements I could make to make it better, but this was fun to make.
