Hike Yosemite National Park

Yosemite

Yosemite is home to some of the most beautiful and unique land scape in all of America.  Inside the park, which is roughly the size of Rhode Island, Yosemite has over 100 lakes, some of which even have beaches.  It has a 200 story waterfall, huge redwood trees, and rolling meadows surrounded by towering mountains.  You may be wondering, “how can I experience all of this vast awesomeness?”  The 800 miles of hiking trails are your answer.  The park is extremely famous and popular, but the sheer size of it can insure a very isolated experience if desired.

As you may be able to tell by these first couple of posts, I have a certain calling to the American West.  I love anything outdoors, and the West is a hub for that kind of activity.  For me, hiking is one of my favorite ways to experience the outdoors, because when I hike up something, and get to experience an amazing view from the top, I feel so accomplished, because I got myself there.

Yosemite is a place where I can experience the best of the best hiking accompanied by the best of the best views.  Just imagining the crystal clear lakes surrounded by awe inspiring mountains gets me so excited.  Yosemite is also big enough that I would never have to see the same thing twice!  It would probably take the good part of a year to see all of it.  yosemite2

My love for insane vistas will also not be disappointed by views like Glacier Point, pictured here at sunset.  It is views like this that call me to Yosemite.  If I am fortunate enough to venture out to California and hike in this beautiful park, I know it will be a truly spiritual and unbelievable experience.

This is great stuff Evan. I feel like I’ve always just heard about Yosemite as a great place but never heard a whole lot about it, and you gave some awesome little facts that I’m sure not a whole lot of people know! Reading that makes me want to take the next flight to California and get hiking! Hope you get the opportunity to try it one time, you seem to have a great passion for it.

Evan, I love your blog! Your posts are always so interesting and enjoyable to read. I have never been there before, but I would love to visit a national park like Yosemite. Your bucket list idea was fantastic, and I can tell that you will have no problem thinking about what to write about for the next few weeks. I personally love photography, and seeing views like these are something that I really enjoy doing. And the hike sounds super fun! I hope you get to go there someday, as well as doing all of the other things on your bucket list. I really admire your ambition and excitement!

Hi Evan. I would like to say that I really admire your bucket list choices. Most people have “bucket lists” containing meaningless things they want to do over the next month or two, and this makes no sense to me. (Things like “star gazing at night,” and “reading a new book”). I like how your bucket list is truly a bucket list- you won’t be able to accomplish all of the things on your list by the end of this year, but rather for the rest of your life. I can tell that the things you want to do are very unique to YOU and truly interest you. I hope you know what I mean by that. But anyways, I think visiting any national park would be an incredible experience. Undisturbed nature is so amazing to observe, and I think some of the best places to do that would be a national park like Yosemite. Keep the awesome choices coming!

This is so cool to see that you’re interested in Yosemite!
Its really fun there and I’ve been about three times! I’m not an outdoorsy person but I definitely loved it there! There are trees big enough to drive through and it always just looks so beautiful! I hope you make it there! Good Luck!
