As I said in class, I rarely go online specifically to look for news, but if it is present on a site I would visit anyway, I will read what interests me. This is why Buzzfeed is the internet news source I have chosen, because I visit it the most.
Buzzfeed is a website that has many entertaining articles that are not related to news, but also mixed in are many current news articles. Since I visit Buzzfeed anyway to browse for entertainment, I usually stumble upon a few news related articles.
Visuals: Each article on the website is accompanied by a title and a picture. The posts themselves also include many pictures, and since I am looking for quick information, this is to my benefit. The visual aspect of the site allows for quick absorbing of information.
Featured: On the home page of the website, all of the recent articles are accompanied by a decently sized, attention getting picture. I usually read articles based on how interesting the picture/title combo is. The featured article takes up the entire top of the page, and it is about a 50%/50% split on when the article is news related or not.
Navigation: At the top of the screen, no matter which page of the site you are on, is a scroll bar of all of the most recent articles, represented by a picture and title. This allows me to navigate the current articles very easily, and I usually open up about 10 new tabs from this bar of articles that interest me.
