This fall Penn State Brandywine’s Student Affairs Office personnel have noticed an expanded offering of new clubs, organizations and on campus. They now have up to 40 different clubs and organizations from which to select. The varied offerings include: academics, club sports, multicultural, recreational and others. A new club resource called Engage for students assists engagement to clubs and new organizations. Engage also allows students, faculty, administration, and staff to acquire knowledge they will need about clubs and organizations. Search Engage psubrandywine.campuslabs.com/engage to find the list and description the current clubs.

To increase student awareness there’s a calendar of upcoming events that allows students to find time, location, and brief summary of the event. For September 2022 some of the events include: The Constitution: First Amendment & Free Speech with Dr Joshua Phillips; Volunteer Opportunity: At the Campus Garden Harvest, and the Center for Social Impact Open House. Check out Penn State Brandywine calendar https://www.registrar.psu.edu/academic-calendars/  to find new and exciting events.

“We have numerous amount of clubs on campus for people of all cultures and interest. If one doesn’t see a club that catches their interest, we can simply create it,” said Tina Bracket-Wood student activities and recreation coordinator. “Some of the most popular clubs this year seem to be chess, anime, paws, and claws, gaming and multi cultural. Our multicultural club is currently one of our most active; the group is larger and has become more diverse.”

Students participate in clubs because it allows students to engage with other members, build relationships, stay motivated, and increase social skills. “ Our multicultural club is one of the best on at Brandywine, and the volume and diversity increases yearly,” said Bracket-Wood.

Clubs and organizations are also looking for student workers. “This is one of the best decisions I made being a member of student affairs. It allowed me to meet many different students and build relationship with them,” said Toby Skeans, third year business and management major and baseball player.

To find out more about clubs contact Tina Bracket-Wood at tsb5266@psu.edu or 610-892-1270, or email at bw-stuaffairs@psu.edu, or stop by the office in room 207 Student Union Building.
