I believe in helping others.
I was raised in a small town in southern West Virginia. We stop when someone is broken down on the side of the road, we rally behind a family who has been displaced by a fire or burdened with an illness, and we think of others before ourselves.
Just this past Christmas season a family’s house burned to the ground along with all of their belongings inside – including Christmas gifts. Immediately within the community people were gathering items such as clothing, toys, household items, etc. to make sure that the family had everything that they needed to stay warm and that the children had toys for Christmas morning. Our community came together to make sure that they had the best Christmas possible – that was something to be proud of.
These types of actions happen often in my community. And they have helped me realize how we have to live. You must help your fellow man because you never know when you may be in a situation in where you need help yourself.
