I believe that fail is okay. To fail is not the end of the world, I tend to think of it is the start of something new. There have been many times in life in which I have failed at certain tasks, but I have always been able to bounce back from them. Failure I believe is a key component in life. I think that without failure, we can’t learn. What is important is that instead of being afraid of failing, we have to embrace our fears and learn from our mistakes. In the future it prevents us from making the same mistake twice and we can grow from it. We grow not only as a mind, but as a person too. It is a building block used in order to better ourselves.
Failure is something that is never easy, and it isn’t supposed to be. It also isn’t something we should look forward to either. Our goal in any task is to obviously succeed and be happy, but often our fear takes over and sometimes prevents ourselves from doing that. It can stress ourselves out and make us feel worse. When we fail we often take it too hard. I have had my fair of times where I have done this. It can be from multiple different activities like school, dating, and work. I think that it is important to try and not be afraid of it so we can enjoy the moment as it happens. As a member of multiple clubs on campus, I have seen friends in those clubs not be able to enjoy certain activities because they were afraid that they weren’t going to be able to work out. Some activities turned out to be a hit and of course some others did not. Though, the ones that did, they weren’t able to enjoy them because the stress and fear of the event failure got to them too much.
In my life I once failed to get a job position that I really wanted. I was pretty broken up about it and was quite upset. Over time though, I learned that it wasn’t the end of the world and that other opportunities would present themselves to me. It was a signal that in order to succeed in the future, I had to first learn from my mistakes. I had to also learn to embrace failure because it is a natural part of life. We aren’t Superman, we can’t succeed at everything. It wouldn’t be fun to succeed at everything, by failing it allows us to also appreciate we have previously accomplished. It lets us be eager to try the next time.
Failing presents new tasks and new challenges. It serves a measuring for where we stand and how we can become better. I know that I have become a better person through failure. It has allowed me to be much more humble and thankful for what I have achieved. It is a part of what makes us human. For me it has shown new opportunities and challenges to embrace to further continue success and to have fun down the road. That is why I believe that failure is okay.
