It was interesting working with a different partner for project 3. Doing a hard news story is a much different experience and requires a different process when compared to a feature story or profile.
When it comes to the interview with Suzanne, I wish I had seen that angle when I was there. I simply sat off to the right while listening and asking questions. A simple solution to that would’ve been to lower the blinds or moved the camera to show a different spot in the room. As you (Dr. Zhong) mentioned in your critique, getting B-Roll would’ve been great and helped ease her into the story.
Some of the SOTS (specifically with Suzanne) could have and should have been shortened. I would’ve liked to get more possible SOTS from Jennifer.
I wish that we would have been able to add a graph or two into our video about Adderall addiction throughout Centre County and also throughout college campuses.
Audio levels and certain other small things were a result of exhaustion and should have been handled with more care. Those mistakes will not happen with Project 4.
It was a pleasure doing a hard news type of story and was much different from a profile. Doing some research about of subject was great too.
