Homeless man tries to rob pizza delivery driver. According to WJAC, a homeless man held a Papa Johns Pizza delivery driver at knifepoint on Sunday afternoon in Miller Alley. The homeless man was demanding pizza from the delivery driver. The driver is okay, and the homeless man, identified as Scott Flanagan is now in the Centre County Jail facing attempted robbery and other charges.
The pizza delivery driver would be beneficial in telling the story because he will be able to give an account of the events that occurred. The homeless man, Scott Flanagan, would also be a good interview because he will be able to shed light on why he did it. He would also be able to speak about the state of the homeless community in State College. Are they being helped enough? Do they have enough opportunities to visit a soup kitchen? How is the town treating them? I might also be able to interview other homeless members of the community to get their view on it. Community members may also give their insight to the issue, as well as the police officers that are dealing with him.
Memorable moments of the story will include interviews from other homeless members of the community, as they don’t really have many opportunities to speak out. Also, the interview of Scott Flanagan would be awesome because it would shed so much light on the homeless community. The interview with the pizza delivery driver would provide details for the how Scott Flanagan got into jail. A photo of the knife and sounds from the jail will also make this package extremely memorable.
The story would start out with the news of the pizza delivery driver being okay after being held at knifepoint by homeless man, Scott Flanagan. The story would then transition into why Flanagan held the pizza driver at knifepoint for pizza, and his struggles as a homeless man in the community. The story would finish by interviewing other homeless members of the community and community members to get a sense of community feeling about the homelessness.
