Some people go to a therapist to talk about their lives and try to change them for the better. Then you have the people that go downtown to get a haircut and experience the same thing.
Dondre, “Dre”, is one of those people that customers not only go for the cut but also for the positive affect he has on people.
“The people around me I would say, they love what I do. And they see the passion that I put in it.”
Not only are the people receiving great haircuts but for Dre, he is also pursuing a passion that he had had since he was a little kid.
“My uncle was a barber, so he kind of not push me into it or got me into it, he just made me fall in love with it because he was so good at it.”
The way cutting hair makes Dre feel is special to him and to his customers that faithfully return to the shop to get their hair cut by him. This is not just a necessity but also a time for Dre to make friends while getting paid.
“I try to make people feel good all the time and I feel like my haircuts make people feel great. When you walk through the door you may be going through something but when you leave and get out my chair you have like a whole different feeling from the haircut and how I talk to you.”
Dre has found what he loves and it has a positive affect on him and the people’s hair he cuts on a daily basis.
