Time flies when you’re havin’ fun….

What a semester it has been!

I was really nervous coming into this class because I had heard how demanding it was and I had no idea what to expect. Although I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with cameras, tripods, editing software, the whole bit, since high school, I still had no idea what standard our work would be held to and how we’d end up being graded.

Now sitting here at the end of the semester, I’m looking back at previous worries kind of laughing at how silly I had been, especially since each and every one of us as students were in the same exact boat, same exact position. I had the most wonderful learning experience in this class!! It felt like I was going into project 1 a little blind, especially since I wasn’t the only one feeling like I was feeling around for a light switch in a pitch-dark room. After that first project was over and we heard Dr. Z’s critiques, the light bulb over my head started to light up because I was starting to feel like I was finding my footing and “getting it”. With each project, that same light began to burn brighter and brighter as I felt more comfortable and confident in what I was doing! Looking back at project one and comparing it to project four actually boggles my mind! I’ve also loved seeing my classmates’ projects improve and evolve over the semester as well.

What I loved most about this class was what an honest, yet completely encouraging environment we got to work in with Dr. Z supporting us. I learned a lot about myself and how I handle working in a group with these kinds of projects and equipment, since it can get a little messy and complicated to coordinate. Through the random assigning each of us into a group, I ended up making a friend I know I’ll have for a lifetime!

I always enjoyed coming to class, and while it was demanding and stressful, it was completely worth it after all the knowledge and skills I’ve gained in the last 15 weeks. Thank you, Dr. Z!!!
