Axle: Former Penn State Assistant Coach Jerry Sandusky’s court hearing was set today for March 24th at the Centre County Courthouse.

The Riders: Someone from the Centre County Courthouse would be best to tell the story however that most likely won’t happen. Another good option would be a legal analysis to discuss the options and possible outcomes. Moreover, the residents and students of State College can help to tell the story through their own emotions and feelings towards the incident.

The Spokes: I would introduce the piece with a standup outside the empty Beaver Stadium. It would lead into sound bites from State College students and residents about their thoughts and feelings about the incident. It would cut to the Centre County Courthouse where a voiceover explains more of the charges and incident. From here, it would cut to an interview with a legal analysis discussing the implications and probability of a new trial.

The Beginning: I would begin with the empty Beaver stadium as I explain the new trial request for Sandusky. I would obtain interviews from faculty, students, and residents about their thoughts and opinions on the new trial.

The Middle: I would jump to a shot of the Centre County Courthouse where the trial will take place and have a voiceover explain the situation more. Here, I would intend to have a lot of footage of Penn State, Penn State football, and the courthouse. It would then cut to a legal expert who would provide an educated analysis on the matter.

The End: It would with a shot of the State Correctional Institute where he is supposed to be transported and while natural sound that I could gather from being inside the jail (even if it is just the waiting room or visitor’s center) played. I would explain the time of the trial and who to contact if anyone thinks they have any information regarding the trial.
