Axle: Penn State Women’s Track and Field won the Big Ten Championship this past weekend, marking it the 5th conference championship this year for the university.

Riders: This could have the potential to be a great feature story. The women’s team is coming off a great victory weekend, however they still have work to do for the NCAA tournament coming up. I would like to speak with athletes on the team, coaches, trainers, and even the Athletic Director because five conference championships is quite the accomplishment for a university.

The Spokes: I would like to take shots and capture audio from the practice track during this time. The NCAA tournament begins in a couple weeks so I think getting live action shots from the track and field athletes would be exciting. I would also like to get interviews while on the track. It will create a presence for the audience to feel like they are there experiencing the action. I would also capture audio and have B-Roll clips to go with the press conference with their coach.

The Beginning: I would start with a stand up talking about the recent success of Penn State athletics and then dive into the women’s track and field team. After the standup, shots from their practice or even shots from the Big Ten championship (if useable) would be great.

The Middle: This is where I would want to get interviews from players, coaches, and other members of the program. Even have B-roll shots of them having a fun time during practice since they came off a conference championship. Or maybe, there is no fun because they are chasing a national championship. The entire package can either turn out to be a celebration or a very determined track and field program competing for the ultimate prize, which is exciting nonetheless.

The End: I would wrap it up by letting the audience know about the upcoming events regarding this team, which is the NCAA tournament at Texas A&M March 10-11.
