The Axle: A food court style restaurant will open in State College.

The Riders: The piece could be a type of profile on the new restaurant owner as he tries to start a new business in a busy and demanding location. State college residents are also important people to interview as their thoughts and opinions on the upcoming business will ultimately impact how it does when it opens. Moreover, we could interview someone from the entrepreneurship program, such as a former teacher of mine. He would be able to explain the obstacles in starting a new business and the effort it takes.

The Spokes: Most importantly, I wanted to show the obstacles the business owner will and had to face. This is important because the last restaurant in this location failed. I think getting to know the person in general would make for a great profile package that could inspire others who want to start a business. It will be important to get a lot of footage of the owner as well as stand up interviews with State College residents. B-roll will also be an important aspect.

The Rim:

Beginning: It will start with an introduction to the new business and b-roll of the state college area as well as the location of the new restaurant, formally known as Rotelli’s. Then, it would lead into an interview with the owner explaining his purpose and dream.

Middle: There will be a few interviews and standups with State College residents asking them if they would be interested in this new restaurant. There would b-roll of the state college businesses as well as students eating at other places in comparison.

End: There would be an interview with a business professor on the process of starting a new business, in order to get an expert opinion. Moreover, there would be more footage of the owner working in his natural habitat and would end with a final word from him in an interview.
