State College, Pa. – State College will have a new mayor after Democratic candidate Don Hahn won 52 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election. The graduate of State College High School and Penn State University will succeed current mayor Elizabeth Goreham.
The next closest candidate was Republican Michael Black who received 33 percent of the vote. Full election results for all of Centre County’s municipal elections can be viewed here.
Hahn served for 12 years on the State College Borough Council and stressed his experience throughout the campaign.
Both Hahn and Black spent the majority of Tuesday outside of the polls at Penn State’s Hub-Robeson Center talking with potential voters.
The Mayor of State College serves a four-year term and is a part-time position. Hahn is a lawyer with the Stover McGlaughlin Law Firm.
