Have you ever been on a tour and the driver or the tour guide narrated everything, telling you about the places you are passing and the interesting little local secrets of the area? Well now you can experience new places without the help of an outside party or a crowded tour bus. GyPSy Guide is a ” narrated driving tour apps use your device’s location service to automatically trigger and play entertaining commentary about your surrounds, as you drive along scenic driving routes.” (gypsyguide.com)

This app features over 30 guided tours for destinations in Canada and the United States. From Maui to Vancouver to Miami, GyPSy Guide provides drivers and passengers a full guided tour experience from the comfort of their own vehicle.

Have you ever worried that you’re missing out on some of the local culture and secrets of the place you’re visiting? No worries- GyPSy Guide has that covered. “You’ll hear entertaining behind-the-scenes stories about the history, geology, wildlife, hikes, explorers, local peoples and culture.”(gypsyguide.com)

This app uses a unique GPS satellite system that does not use your phone’s data-no data roaming, cell network or wifi is required while touring. Simply download the tour before hand and you’re on your way.

GyPSy Guide is unique because it allows the driver to take their tour at their own pace. The app allows the user to be more informed than the average traveler, giving them tips and tricks like good places to stop, shorter routes, places to park, how much it might cost to park or how to avoid paying for parking all together.

This app is on available on the AppStore and GooglePlay for download. Each tour is its own separate app, so one tour on one app. The app price range is from $3.99 to $9.99 for singular tour to  $25.99 for a “collection”, a complete collection a multiple tours of an area.

Also make sure you have a charger in your car (a 12v DC car charger (cigarette style)  is recommended) because location service drains cell phone batteries. Also, the app is said to be experienced better through bluetooth connection due to a USB not having  “a strong charger and some vehicles may think you have paired twice, if using Bluetooth and the USB port.” This might be a limitation for travelers that do not have that type of system in their vehicles.

GyPSy Guide is making travel more personal by providing its users with a tour that they can take on their own time on their own terms. By allowing users to experience a new place in a different way than the average tourist- taking them on back roads, saving them time and money-GyPSy Guide will help users make memories and discover new things from the touch of a button.
