comm 498 reflection (what I’ve learned)

There is an abundance of things I have learned in this course. The first and most important one in my opinion is just the face to face interactions in the class. A lot of classes I have taken in college there isn’t much interaction with classmates and this class up until the point of all of our classes being moved to zoom and even after we have had many interactions with our classmates. One of the things I loved most was during the first week of class you wanted us to meet and shake all of our classmate’s hands and then encouraged us to learn about each other. I think that was a very important part of this course and one day it will be important for me when I am in the business world. I love it because it is something that I will take with me in my future.

Another import skill I have learned is how to adapt to abrupt changes. No college student in America was ready to go home after spring break and take online classes opposed to in class classes. It has been a very hard time where everyone including myself has had to adapt to tough times and still maintain a level head along with good grades when you are back home.

The two most important lessons I have learned are simple. The first is what I stated in the last paragraph about learning to adapt under difficult circumstances, and the second would have to be to make the most of every moment you have as a college student and athlete that it can be taken away at any time.

There are too many lessons that you have given each and every one of us in this class just to focus in on one or two. I feel like you have taught us about how to interact in a business setting, workplace skills and many other things that aren’t even in the rubric for the class. I just think you have went above and beyond in this class to help students in the things that they actually need to learn.

My reflection on this course as a whole is very positive. There are so many things that you have taught us in comm 498 that I can use in the future to be very successful!
