Ebay Motors: The New Way to Shop Cars

Overview: Ebay has been around since 1995, making it one of the first and largest buy and sell websites on the internet.  Since 2008, when they made an app available for IOS, their customer base expanded exponentially.  A large part of Ebay has and will alway been automotive sales.  That being cars, motorcycles, boats and RVs, as well as parts.  It got so large that they launched Ebay Motors as their own subsidiary back in 2000, just 5 years after the initial site was launched. It is an app only for cars, not the normal Ebay items, which makes it amore streamlined process for connecting you to what you need.

Usage: Having used the app numerous times over the years to feed my ever growing hobby that is cars, I can say that it does a good job of finding what you want, even if you are just browsing with nit intention to buy.  Up front, they have categories that vary from classic and convertibles to trucks and vans.  This allows the user to filter out exactly what they want to search for and exclude the chaos that would ensue if otherwise.  It also allows you to personalize your settings to where the app will filter things that it know you are looking for to the top of the page when something new pops up.  You can also input your car and it will filter for parts that pertain to your vehicle, which is a wonderful tool. Just like the normal Ebay website and app, there are auctions as well as but it now options.  Allowing you to either play the long game of trying to get a good deal on a car or part, or satisfy your car craving with buying something immediately.

Overall: I am and alway be a fan of this all.  It is easy to use, very fun, but also dangerous because you can find a car on it that you didn’t know that you couldn’t live without until you saw it.  All jokes aside, it is a very well designed app.  The one thing I would prefer them to add is a Parts specific tab at the beginning.  For anybody that is into cars or like to watch the automotive market, this is a great place to get your bearings for it. I would give it a 8.9/10 rating for that reason.
