Background
E! News is a news website dedicated to all things pop-culture and celebrity based. E! News has always been my favorite news outlet because of its exclusivity to entertainment content, as well as it’s uniqueness compared to other sites. E! News has filmed segments on their site at all times, a photos only section and a top trending news section that is constantly updating.
Analysis
In addition to writing about all of their news, E! News also posts video segments of all the things they write about for the people who are not-so in to reading. The clips are short, too, and range from about a minute to three minutes. This is a perfect feature for someone who is in a rush, but wants to stay up-to-date. The ‘Trending Now’ feature is a great because it is constantly updating itself based on the most-clicked stories. This allows for easy-access to the stories that people are looking for, and saves time from having to search the website for it. I enjoy the photos only section in the middle of the page because it allows me to see what my favorite celebrities are doing and wearing with just a quick glance.
I love how neat and organized E! News has made their site, but I also admire how fun and interactive they’ve made it, as well. Other sites may lack video and slideshow features, but E! News has lots of options for people who like to receive their news in different ways.
Conclusion
E! News is a fun site for when you need a break from every-day news. A good idea that could be useful to help enhance their site would be fun quizzes for readers to do when they are done reading. Even though quizzes are not necessarily news-based, other fun news sites such as BuzzFeed offer quizzes for their audiences that are just cool way to increase views and interaction levels. I also think that E! News could do live broadcasts sometimes via their website. All-in-all, E! News is my favorite website, and I think that they do a great job with keeping it top-notch.
