In a society like today, it is important to be informed on daily news and what is going on globally. The Wall Street Journal is known for award-winning coverage of the U.S. and worldwide news, politics, arts, culture, lifestyle, sports, health, and more. The WSJ first originated as a business newspaper and has continued to develop and expand over the years. Launching the WSJ online site was launched in 1996 and only allows access by subscribing for $38.99 a month, and I believe it was a great move made by the company. Technology is used everywhere and is an essential way to keep up with the news. There is so much time spent on electronics and social media platforms, and it may be the only way people hear about breaking news. The Wall Street Journal excels in reaching its millions of readers and has had a huge impact on news coverage outlets.
The Wall Street Journal has a huge focus on financial information and business coverage. Although the news coverage is mainly focused on business-related topics, it is still beneficial to all kinds of subscribed readers. The Wall Street Journal sticks out from other websites such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and Financial Times because it covers cutting-edge information on multiple broad topics, provides financial market information, and gives you an overall better understanding of the economy. The Wall Street Journal app is another way to read, and it is easy to use and makes reading accessible from any smartphone, computer, or tablet. For the Wall Street Journal to improve, incorporating interactive profiles and more communication between users online would greatly benefit the website. Social media accounts are only evolving more and more each day. If the WSJ site could have more interactive features for other users to communicate, it would make more out of their subscription and could potentially increase the number of individuals to subscribe. The Wall Street Journal is known for its classic newspaper look, but I think the website could also use more elements of color and motion. In the article “8 innovative web design trends for 2020”, I really loved the Scrolling Transformations web design. If the Wallstreet Journal added more web designs to their site, I think it could increase interaction and engagement.
I would personally recommend this website to workers, employers, students, and anyone interested in any business aspect. If you want to stay on top of news coverage and finance, this is the perfect website for that. In a Forbes 2018 survey, they said that 57.7% of Americans were users and showed the Wall Street Journal to be the most trusted news source in the United States. The Wall Street Journal is known to be a reliable source and provides you with anything you need in one website.
