The axle: I would write a story about how COVID-19 has impacted centre county in the past week. I want the viewers to understand the statistics involving the coronavirus in their local community.

The riders: The best people to tell the story are those who had coronavirus recently and can talk about their experience while fighting the sickness. For those who are hospitalized, I could perhaps talk to their families. I also would interview Mount Nittany Medical Center employees who work with coronavirus patients on a day-to-day basis.

The spokes: Some sound bites that could give the listeners a sense of urgency/seriousness is the beeping sound of the hospital monitor. I could also include other relevant hospital noises that signify urgency, to give a sense of how serious this virus can be, especially when patients need to become hospitalized/on a ventilator. Memorable moments to see could be footage of the hospital staff working so hard, especially those who have to work doubles

The rim:

Beginning: The beginning will be giving a summary of the statistics from this week, I would break that down by explaining the number of hospitalizations including those who are on a ventilator. Of those hospitalized, twelve were fully vaccinated and 29 were not fully vaccinated.

Middle: The middle will be a comparison, including the past week’s statistics to other weeks, I want to explain that we just currently had our largest increase since April 13th. So clearly, we are on the rise again so it’s good to be informed of that.

End: In the end, I would remind viewers of ways to stop the spread. I would also provide resources such as the Mount Nittany Medical Center dashboard in case they want to keep tabs on all of the updated information throughout the week
