The Axel- This week I’d like to focus on the rising vaccination rate and the lower positivity rate for COVID-19 in Centre County.
The Riders- The for story, it would be important to shine the spotlight on the residents of the county, but more specifically around State College, as that is the county’s hotspot. Talking to locals about why they think it’s important, or it’s not important, to get vaccinated is perhaps the most important focus to have. There should also be opinions from doctors, local community leaders, and politicians.
The Spokes- I would want to get a lot of shots of the local land outside of State College, but also would want to get shots of downtown State College. I would want soundbites of the traffic in State College, but would also want to get nat sound of the nature scenes around the county; birds, rivers and streams, etc. Interviews with locals would be of the upmost importance.
The Rim-
Beginning- The beginning of the package would include the shots of outside of town, and would have nat sound of the nature around State College. Here would be a good spot for a interview with a resident of somewhere outside of State College, like Bellefont or Boalsburg.
Middle- Here is where the meat of the story would be. Here I would want interviews with State College locals, an interview with a local politician and maybe an official for Penn State University, since it is such a big part of the local economy.
End- To wrap things up, I would have an interview with a doctor from Mount Nittany Medical Center and have the shots of downtown State College. I would want it have everything come together and show that the vaccination rate points to lower COVID cases.
