Gabe Angieri — Weekly Story Idea 7

The Axle: This week, I would want to do a story on how the change in weather is affecting Centre County golf courses, and also how they plan to go forward as it gets colder.
The Riders: The best people to talk to for this story would be golf course owners and employees in Centre County. I have quite a few golf courses in mind, including the Penn State golf courses, Skytop Mountain Golf Club, and Mountain View Country Club. Obviously as it gets colder out, the market for golf decreases, which puts golf courses in a tough spot. However, I know some golf courses in other places offer tubing and sledding during the winter months. I would like to talk to these Centre County golf courses and see if they plan on doing similar things. Also, it would be interesting to find out how late into the fall/winter they offer golf. Talking to local golf course owners and employees would give me good insight into how the courses plan on operating.
The Spokes: I would want to get shots of the local golf courses I plan on going to and talking to. Getting shots of the clubhouse and people playing golf with be a priority. Also, I would plan on getting shots of some of the hills on the golf course, as that is where tubing and sledding would take place. I would want to get shots of workers working, such as moving golf carts, watering the course, or cleaning up. I would get nat sound of people playing golf, as the sound of the golf ball would be a good piece of sound. I would do my stand-up somewhere at the golf course where I wouldn’t be at risk of getting hit with a ball. I feel like doing all of these things would give the reader a feeling like they’re at the golf course.
The Rim: 
Beginning: I would start my story with shots of people playing golf and talk about the golf scene in Centre County. I would mention specific golf courses and then include shots of those specific golf courses.
Middle: I would transition into my interviews with the golf course employees and owners and start off with how long their golf courses plan to stay open for. I would then go into if the golf courses are planning any events for the winter, such as tubing or sledding.
End: My end would feature more shots from the golf course, specifically the ones of the hills on the course. I would end my story with my stand-up at the golf course, which would include how golf courses plan to go forward.
