WSI 8 – Jenna Huegel

Axel: I would cover the story of a burglar getting inside of a local fraternity house and damaging property with a baseball bat.

Riders: The best people to tell this story are those who live at the fraternity house. Especially those who had items damaged as well. I also would interview one of the police officers who went to the scene and are covering this case.

Spokes: I would do the standup right in front of the fraternity house that was vandalized. I could be creative with the stand-up and take the path that the burglar did while entering the house. Some added background noise could be the sound of something being broken for emphasis.

Rim:

-Beginning: For the beginning, I would set the scene for the story and inform the public that there was a burglar in State College at 4:15 a.m, located at the Zeta Beta Tau house on fraternity road.

-Middle: I would show the photos that the police have released to help identify the suspect. And tell them if they have any information to call the police to help tip them off. Then I would make sure that all of the details were given on the incident and what happened. I want to be clear that the public knows that this was NOT the same armed burglar that had gunned down a bus clerk on Sunday.

-End: I would then finish with the interviews of those who were affected and interviews with our local law enforcement who are working the case so that I could provide the clearest update for the public. – As of right now they still have not caught the burglar.
