The Axle
Centre County experienced its second wettest summer in recorded history and struggled to reach temperatures of 80 degrees.
The Riders
The businessmen and women in the Centre County area that have either struggled or thrived due to the weather would tell this story. Residents that work in agriculture and rely on rain to grow their crops would explain how their business has been affected during the summer months. Companies that thrive during summer months due to the temperatures would talk to any possible struggles they might be encountering.
The Spokes
The story would open up with a stand up in front of a farm that would lead into a SOT with a farmer. There would be multiple interviews with people that work on the farm and with people that are directly impacted by the farms production due to the weather. There would be plenty of B-Roll that includes people working on the farm. The next part would include business that benefit during the summer months and document how there business has been affected. Interviews with patrons of the businesses would be important to show how the weather has been affecting their summer habits.
The Rim
1) Beginning: Informing the audience about the abnormality about this summer.
2) Middle: The middle of the package would include view points from all organizations involved
3) Ending: I would close out the piece with a part on how each business has turned out this summer and the out come that the weather has had on their profits.
