Jack Tumen Weekly Story Idea 3

Axle: The focus of the story would be on Penn State Grad Student, Bill Cossen, who won $16,801 on Jeopardy! It would profile him on his journey to the show and follow him just after it.

Riders: Bill himself would be the main focus of the story. In addition, his mother, father and close friends would be great interviews so they can talk about the kind of knowledge that Bill has and how he worked his way to get on the show.

Spokes: The piece would have to get footage from the show in which Bill was on, which would require the network’s permission to have Jeopardy’s theme song and shot of Bill on set answering questions. There could then be intermittent pieces of Bill talking about how he prepared to get on the show and how he expected to do. He could also tell us what he plans to do with the money that he wins.

Rim: Beginning would be shots of Bill on the set answering questions to set the general scene and have him telling us about his appearance on Jeopardy. The middle would be interviews of his family and friends telling us about how they watched Bill work to get on the show and how excited they are for him. Bill would also tell us about his preparation process. The end would be him telling us what he plans on doing if he wins more money and what some of the challenges were for getting on the show and knowing answers to tough questions.
