The Axle:

State College author inspires children with new novel

The Riders:

The author (Martha Freeman), Mary Cash (editor of novel), local parents

The Spokes:

-Pictures of the new book

-Footage of Freeman and Cash (interviews on the novel)

-Footage of parents on their opinion of the new novel’s message and lessons for their children (would they read it to their kids or let them read it? Do they agree with the messages being portrayed? Etc.)

-Get natural sound of book pages flipping, get natural sound of kids playing

The Rim:

Beginning-Start with natural sound of kids playing and have reporter talking about childhood and growing up. Transition to natural sound of book pages flipping and lead into Freeman’s pictures of the new book.

Middle: Shift to interviews with Freeman and Cash on the novel (what it’s about, why Freeman chose to write it; including the basic premise of the book and how it differs from other children’s novels and the overall theme and message)

End: Finish with reporter talking about this overall message to local parents and get their views on the book (would they read it to their kids, do they like the message being conveyed, it is a good read for kids and learning to grow up, etc.)
