Course Reflection

Taking COMM 465 this semester with Professor Bu Zhong was truly a pleasure and a great learning experience. Even though the work was long and tedious, it was enjoyable. The work helped me get an experience of what my career life could be like. It’s an eye-opener that nothing is easy anymore and the more challenges we face, the more we learn and grow as journalists and as human beings. I learned so much more about effective story-telling, editing, equipment use, and working with teams that I didn’t experience in other classes thus far.

Not only did I gain more experience as a journalist, I met many great people along the way. It was a joy to work with my fellow classmates and it was even more rewarding to have made some friends in the process. It made working on the projects and assignments that much more enjoyable and I am so grateful I met the people I did in this class. I wish everyone luck in their paths to becoming great, successful journalists.

Professor Bu Zhong was a great mentor in this course. He was very helpful and gave a lot of great advice. I could not have asked for a better professor to educate me on television reporting and my growth as a journalist.

I really enjoyed learning about television reporting. I feel that this course, my professor, and my fellow classmates have prepared me even more for a potential journalism career.
