Who am I?

Hello friends!

My name is Cali. I was born in Wisconsin, but moved to Minnesota about two years ago. I am majoring in Criminology and Global Studies with a minor in Korean.

Now, a little background on the theme I chose and what it means to me…

The theme I chose centers around diversity in the form of exploring different cultures around the world through music, clothes, food, traditions, and language. For me,  learning about what makes my way of life similar or different to others helps build my perspective of the world, and also allows me to self-reflect in a new way. I am sure much of you share the same desire I have to travel around the world and experience something  foreign. As for me, I have not actually traveled abroad much… yet!

Instead, I explore my interests in other ways. For example, I am fortunate to have attended a Korean immersion camp for the past five years. My camp experiences are one of the main reasons I strive to continue learning the Korean language. It has taught me everything I know about Korean culture, and helped to cultivate my desire to learn more about the world outside of what I hear on TV or read in books. I hope that by reading this blog you too will be able to learn something new about the world!
