Tourism and the Human Relationship to The Environment: Galapagos Islands as a Microcosm (Fulbright Scholar Award 9437-EC Research Flex)
With support from the Penn State Institute for Energy and Environment, I worked with colleagues in Biology and Rural Sociology on new research that explore the socio-ecological resiliency of coral reef systems outside of Cartagena, Colombia.
In conjunction with the Penn State field course on Parks and People around Udzungwa Mountains National Park that I co-led along with PSU Professor Larry Gorenflo, I am engaged in ongoing research in Tanzania at the nexus of biodiversity conservation, sustainable community development, and nature-based tourism.
