Beauty in the easiest way possible

image

Certain images stand out against the cruel world that is its background.  Relating to the article in which we had read about Sandy’s letter home from the warfront shows that in
the purest of evil, a more innocent image stands out.  He had written about the simplest things that he had seen as beauty, “Armed soldier became unarmed.”  He saw past the cruelty that was surrounding him in all directions, he didn’t wish for a different situation.
His letter home betrayed the common theme in which a solider may had written; it didn’t express any regret nor did it express any concern of taking the life he had beforehand for granted.  An example that I had seen recently online is of the man who let the subway passenger stay sleeping on his shoulder.  It struck me because it shows no differences between the two of them.  No class division, no racial difference.  It was an innocent circumstance of helping the other out in the easiest way possible: he did not wake up this passenger whom had fallen asleep on his shoulder while coming home from work.  This image shows hope for mankind and that we are there for each other no matter who we are.
