Thanks to All Who Contributed to the Success of 2018 Night at the Races!
A fun time was had by all at “A Night at the Races” on May 18th. The fundraiser, put on by the Centre County Chapter and volunteer staff members of the Penn State Alumni Association, raised $8,202.97 to support the Chapter scholarship fund and the Blue & White Society and Lion Ambassador THON dancers. In addition to watching 10 exciting races with the chance to win on a favorite horse, more than 140 guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, games, a 50/50 drawing, and a hat contest, which was won by Joe Molhoek and Jan Deveney.
A silent auction offering an amazing array of items, from PSU football tickets to tea for 10 at the Reynolds Mansion to a stay in New York City, raised more than $5,000 of the total!
The night couldn’t have been possible without Race sponsors David & Lisa Benson, Ernie & Kay Salvino, F45 Training, Dale Hoffman, Hartsock Plumbing, Alan Jones, Nick and Mary Lou Dubil, McDonalds S. Atherton, the Centre County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, and SC Vinyl; Silver sponsors Federal Taphouse and Trophy Tracks; and In-kind sponsor Premier Bartending.
Special thanks to the Sponsor/Auction committee of Lisa Benson, Cheryl Bonner, Pam Carina, Misha Demchuk, Jan Deveney, Kelly Morgante, and the many others who helped to secure donations for the silent auction. Thanks also to planning committee members Carol Alerich, Marti Duffy (our emcee for the evening), Kathy Friedman, Charlene Gaus, Wendy Jo Hartsock, Dale Hoffman, Shelley Houck, Alan Jones, Dick Kustin, Cathy Leonard-Hall, Pat Patton, Linda Rohrer, Mara Ryan, Carolynn Stoicheff, Carolyn Tothero, Jack Welesko, Ilene White, and Dottie Yukish.
