The history of the Piano

I think of two possible topics for Unit Two Project, which was mentioned in the last blog. Based on my research, the history of the piano seems to be more interesting to talk about. First, I need to learn more about history. I found the following sites which provide good information for me.

  1. You mentioned in your elevator speech about how music has changed along with the piano. It would be interesting to hear about how the evolution of the piano affects music. I believe there should be plenty of research and information about how music culture has changed due to certain instruments.

  2. I think that this will be an interesting topic, especially since it’s one that you care about and will be more interested in writing about. I’m not sure how large you range of time will be, especially since the piano is such an old instrument, but I agree with Bobby that extending the essay’s reach to how piano impacted culture, even when classic piano became less popular when pop music and mainstream music came around. Even talking about it being an introductory instrument for children could be a really good point in my opinion.

  3. I think this could be a very interesting topic for you, especially considering your immense knowledge already surrounding the subject pre-research. I’d be interested to see how pianos have changed over time and the impact of said changes.
