Research focuses on cancer research including tumor cell adhesion and motility, tumor-endothelial interactions, and melanoma-induced signaling events. Past research has included developing a dual-micropipet technique to measure cell locomotion. Current … Read More
Cancer metastasis is the leading cause of death among cancer patients. Over one million people are diagnosed with cancer each year (American Cancer Society; www.cancer.org). Our goal as a lab is to understand how cancer spreads and what mechanisms that tumor cells use to move in and out of the vasculature. More importantly, we are studying how tumor microenvironment affects immune cells functions and immunoediting within the microcirculation, especially the role that leukocytes and endothelial cells play in tumor cells extravasation during the metastasis.
