This Spring, teams of undergrads from around the US took the Accelerator Rap Challenge. Their challenge was to create a short SchoolHouseRock-style animated music video that could help 8-12-year-olds understand innovative entrepreneurial work. They composed beats and lyrics related to this year’s entrepreneurial topic (the six themes of Aulet’s Disciplined Entrepreneurship). They also rendered animations that brought their lyrics to life. And they made sure that their work will inspire girls, children of color, and kids from other population groups currently under-represented in innovative entrepreneurship to see themselves in entrepreneurial careers.

Each team met the same requirements:

  • Works must be animation (not live action)
  • Works must be less than 2 minutes in total run time
  • Works must be created by teams (2-5 people)
  • Works must be G-rated
  • Each team must be composed of undergraduate students enrolled in US colleges and universities at the time of submission
  • Please DO NOT include your name, university, mascot, or other identifying material in your entry
  • A complete list of entry requirements and judging criteria can be found in the contest rules

The Accelerator Rap Challenge is a national contest open to all undergrads in the US. It is based on the course that won the 2020 Academy of Management Innovation in Entrepreneurship Pedagogy award.

The Cape at Penn State is committed to addressing matters of diversity, inclusion, and belonging in innovative entrepreneurship and to improving entrepreneurship education across the lifespan. We are excited to see who wins the 2022 Accelerator Rap Challenge. Join us for the Finale and find out!
