Tiafoe knocks off Tsitsipas while Zverev rolls to Quarterfinals in Vienna

Tiafoe beats Tsitsipas to reach Quarterfinals

The Vienna Open began largely as last week’s European Open did. Andy Murray got off to a great start by toppling a high seed in Hubert Hurkacz before losing out in his next match, Jannik Sinner rolled through his first two matches, and the number 2 seed has appeared as the odds on favorite the whole way. The similarities ended when unseeded player Frances Tiafoe engaged in a wild three set match against top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. It was rough seas early for Tiafoe who surrendered the first set 3-6, but he rallied to take the second 6-4. The story of the match however came in the third. Down 0-3, Tiafoe won 5 straight games and finished off the top seed with 6-4 win in the third set. The outstanding upset presents a wide open path for second seed Alexander Zverev to take the title if he can get through a high caliber Quarterfinal match against sixth seed Felix Auger Aliassime.
