The Eberly College of Science has written Advisor-Student Interaction Guidelines, intended to outline the best practices for an effective relationship. We encourage you to read through this document and speak with your advisor about the expectations you should have for your advisor and the expectations they should have for graduate students in their group.

ECoS Graduate Mentoring Guidelines

As always, if conflicts arise between you and your advisor, contact the department ombudsmen, graduate chairs, or other faculty members you feel comfortable speaking with. The ombudsmen can be found in the latest Chemistry Graduate Student Guidelines and are as follows:

Crista Spratt (cus1246@psu.edu)

Lasse Jensen (jensen@chem.psu.edu)

Ken Knappenberger (klk260@psu.edu)

Pshemak Maslak (pm@chem.psu.edu)

Katherine Masters (kmasters@psu.edu)

The department also has two Graduate Student Advocates:

Varun Mandalaparthy

Albanie Stives
