Frequently Asked Questions:

Is zoom free and safe to use?

Yes and yes!

I can’t hear anything. What do I do?

Make sure your volume is turned on.

How do I ask a question?

Step 1

You can ask a question simply by clicking on the Q&A button that appears in the bottom center of your screen. You might have to move your mouse to see it.

Step 2

Then, type your question into the box and click send. We will then either answer your question live or type an answer that will show up in the Q&A box.

Will my sound or video camera be turned on in the webinar?

No, you are automatically muted and your video camera is turned off when you join the webinar.

I see a screen that says we are waiting for the host to start the webinar. What does this mean?

This just means that we have not officially started the webinar yet. Just be patient and we’ll start it in a few minutes!

What happens if I get disconnected?

If this occurs, just click on the link again. We are recording the webinars and posting them on the “Virtual Scientist” page so you won’t miss anything!
