This is my finished Mandala project. I really like my work, I’ve been meaning to do a portraiture for this class. I was inspired by the peacock shown in class. I tried my best to not make this too visually busy. fortunately, the purple afro really helps balance the background and the accessories.
This exercise, I modified the blue, red, and green value of the original photo. I also focused on the magenta flower petals to make them more vibrant.
The first image is my scan for the corpse project. The second image was from my scanning exercise, where I modified the flower image.
I’m currently working on turning my concept art into literal art. I am struggling with how am I going to do the hair. I want it the Mandala to have a flow to it. It will help combat the stagnation of the sunglasses and the earrings.
This was an interesting way of working with colors. It was fascinating to see how traditional
color theory and digital art color theory differ and stayed the same.
This is my Line Art exercise. It took me a few times to be comfortable with the pen tool, however I think I got it.
I initially had a hard time with this. Fortunately as I worked on it, I finally understood.
This is my completed Black Bird project. Poem one and poem two are the biggest inspiration for my blackbird, especially the lines “twenty snowy mountains”, “the eye of the blackbird”, and “three of mind… three blackbird/” I prep for this project by really think about what each blackbird represent and what types of symbols do I want to use.
