The Goddess Stream

Today was our 2nd full day on the cruise and we spent the morning taking a tour of the Goddess Stream, which is named after God’s Peak that stands tall nearby, in small boats. The forest surrounding this gorge is filled with wildlife which includes mountain goats, monkeys, and boars inhabit. The people who live around this area spend hours climbing up an down the mountains every day just to get to work, like our tour guide Juju. Most of the people go high up into these steep mountains to collect the Wushan leaves for Wushan Gu Zi tea. These leaves grow organically 100 meters above the water’s surface. In late summer and early autumn, the trees around these parts turn a vibrant red color, offering a beautiful sight to anyone who can experience them. This has been my favorite scenery day of the trip because of how the clouds lay over the mountains and everything is still and serene.
