I can officially say I have climbed the great wall of China. I spent most of my time with Ian going up (I sort of left Ariel behind, but if I had stopped I wouldn’t have gone up to the highest point with everyone else). The climb was terrifying. None of the steps were the same height, one would be like 6 inches and another would be a foot and half. They weren’t consistent either so if you weren’t paying attention you could die. I have to say though, coming down was way scarier than going up because there wasn’t always a railing and my legs were already tired. The view was definitely worth the climb though. There were workers at the the towers along the wall on the way up and all I could think about was you have to climb this far every morning for work and bring the merchandise up all the time. I would not want that job, but some of the art that they were doing was beautiful.
