On our second day Beijing we took an hour bus ride to the Great Wall of China. I imagined the Great Wall of China as a place quite different from what I saw. In my head I was picturing a 60-foot wall towering over a flat area of land, instead I saw a shorter wall built across a large mountain range. I was also surprised to learn that the wall stretches over 13,000 miles, longer then my trip from New Jersey to China. Walking up the steps to the one of the highest towers in the area was a workout. The steps range in steepness with some steps being almost two feet apart from each other. Although, it was daunting me and everyone else did make it to the top!
