Opportunities

Postdoctoral positions

Two openings are available for the study of phonon transport across the epilayer/substrate interface in wide bandgap semiconductor devices. Post docs should have a background in laser-based pump-probe methods (e.g., TDTR, FDTR) and/or the modeling interfacial phonon transport. The applicant should possess a strong technical background in TDTR and FDTR measurement.

Graduate student positions

One opening for the electro-thermal modeling and thermal imaging of wide bandgap semiconductor devices is available. Students with either a MS-level thermal or electrical engineering background may apply for this RA position.

Semester and summer research opportunities for undergraduates

Undergraduate students who have a strong passion for scientific research may contact Dr. Choi. Students who have taken Dr. Choi’s class (after receiving a decent letter grade) are highly recommended to ask for a undergraduate researcher position. You will be performing experiments and writing scientific journal articles with graduate research assistants. You will be presenting your research findings at international conferences hosted by ASME and IEEE.
