Curriculum Writing Day
I was able to attend a curriculum writing day at Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School in February. At this event, I was able to work with all of the other Social Studies instructors across the district to help generate classroom curriculum for the following year. This was a really rewarding experience for me, as I was able to understand the process of curriculum writing, and it took lesson planning to a whole new level. I formed many new connections, and was invited to sit in on a High School Social Studies class by one of the fellow educators. The teachers’ were impressed that I showed initiative to attend the curriculum-writing day, and I was proud to represent PSU’s Middle Level Ed. Program at POHS.

Response from Ms. Stanton:
I was able to communicate with a parent of one of my students, Ms. Stanton. I think this email chain displays professional competence, communicating appropriately with parental/guardian figures is an essential tool to have as a teacher.
