A College Level Research Paper

Starting out researching my paper seemed like it would be cut and dry; boy was I wrong. In the beginning it was relatively benign in nature. I had all the material that I needed, so I thought, to make a strong analytical paper that relayed a thought. Then the snowball effect set in.
There was so much information that I did not even know where to begin. I had no idea how much information to convey to the audience. It became rather overwhelming very fast. So I had to stop and think about what it was that I wanted to convey to the reader.
I first used the information that the professor wanted me to write about and then I found out that the first three cited works did not even cover newer information so I could not write about current trends or challenges. So I had to go back to the drawing board and figure out what information I was missing. Find the information that I already had and try and write a concise paper that I thought made sense. Then hope that it made sense to the professor and I wasn’t just babbling. All the while trying to not just copy paste from another text and making sure that I was writing the majority of the paper in my own words.
All in all, I think the process was rather humbling to say the least. Researching the paper showed me that it is not about just reading material and deciphering to put it on a piece of paper. It is knowing the information and conveying the information in a logical manner (I still do not think that I have that down, but we will see). I think that next time a research paper comes along; I think I will be a lot better prepared.
Thanks for reading my blog and I hope that at least some other people struggled as I did.
