Nelson Mandela

Unfortunately Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s current leader, was pronounced dead on Thursday. He was 95 years old. Nelson Mandela’s willingness to forgive and forget helped peacefully end an era of white domination in his native South Africa. But as news of his death spread, mourners there and around the world professed that he, himself, would never be forgotten.

“We’ve lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth,” said current U.S. President Barack Obama, the first black leader of his own country who said his first public activism was an anti-apartheid protest. “He no longer belongs to us. He belongs to the ages.” President Obama says.

He is in a better place now. May his soul rest in peace. His legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace Nelson Mandela

When I heard of Nelson Mandela’s death my heart dropped. While it is very sad that he is no longer with us it is comforting to know that his beliefs and hard work will forever be engrained in the world. May he rest in peace.

  2. I cant believe he was 95 that’s crazy!! I think its awesome that he lived for so long because he was able to keep spreading his knowledge and wisdom for everyone. He was great leader and did wonders to improve South Africa. This is such a shame. I LOVE President Obamas quote, that is so true. Mandela has touched so many people it would be selfish of our generation to act like we alone have lost such a great leader. He will be greatly missed by all especially those in South Africa who still need his help. I am anxious to see who will be the next peacekeeper and if people will love them as much as they loved Nelson Mandela.
