Every semester, ClubEM identifies a preliminary list of projects, and then acts on them with the intent of furthering their progress during the semester. These projects are identified by external organizations, such as PSUOEM, or by member initiative. Information on each ongoing project, including progress, teams, and milestones, will be updated on this page. If you would like to suggest a project for ClubEM or are interested in assisting with a project, please contact a student officer.
Tornado Shelter Map – The final touches are being put in place regarding the campus-wide endeavor to designate buildings as University-recognized tornado shelters. After the map is finalized, it will be used to improve the university’s preparedness for hazardous weather conditions.
Flyers & Publicity – ClubEM is in the process of disseminating flyers around various locations on campus to raise awareness of the club.
Power Plant Tour – Last year, ClubEM toured Penn State’s Breazeale Nuclear Reactor to understand how nuclear plants operate and also to review nuclear safety protocol. If there is sufficient interest, a similar tour may be planned for this year as well.
THON – Collaboration between ClubEM and Red Cell Analytics to monitor THON activities will be conducted through THON weekend. This event has occurred for the past several years, and we plan to assist again this year to help ensure the safety of everyone participating in THON.
Fall Tabletop – Just like last year, we’re planning an interactive tabletop exercise about a specific hazard that could impact the University. This event brings in fire, police, and campus officials to advise what emergency operations and logistics take place during an emergency on campus. Stay tuned for details regarding this upcoming event.
