We practice and train in the martial art style known as Taekwondo, which means “the way of the foot and fist.” Originating in Korea, Taekwondo has spread throughout the world over the last six decades developing several unique styles, a few of which dominate. Taekwondo is now officially recognized as the most practiced martial art in the world, with over 70 million competitors in 190 countries. Starting in 2000 at the Sydney Games, Taekwondo become an Olympic event. In this club we accept all sects of Taekwondo, including both the WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) and ITF (International Taekwon-do Federation) organization styles. Our Competition Team primarily competes in the WTF (Olympic) style and are a Division II Team in the Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo League (ECTC). Our goal is to promote physical fitness, self-discipline, self-defense, confidence, community service, and to build a strong social core.
