Cracking the Code: Carmen Cole, ‘Code for Her’ founder, helps diversify the IST field

On March 16 the Code for Her team presented our work called Code for Her: Empowering women and gender-diverse individuals in tech at the Penn State TLT Symposium on the Fall 2018 semester of Code for Her.

Joslenne Peña, Carmen Cole, and Dr. Mary Beth Rosson (College of IST) presented a poster entitled “Code for Her: Exploring Female and Gender-Diverse Computing Workshops for Faculty, Staff, and Students” at the SIGCSE Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (Association for Computing Machinery) on March 2, 2019.

In December 2018, Joslenne Peña and Carmen Cole spoke about Code for Her as a part of the Connect & Communicate webinar series for the Pennsylvania Library Association’s College & Research Division.
