Good night and good luck

America’s core values of freedom and human rights can not be separated , in this film , when the protagonist to rise up against McCarthy , when most of that is to say two words . A society ‘s values should be accepted by most people agree , where opposition parties – the media and politicians – all uphold freedom and human rights , at least on the surface is. In other words , whatever you people across the belly , concealed what evil heart, want to do bad things, but in the face of the public’s time , have to honestly say that I am a defender of freedom and human rights , I am doing these are from patriotism, from safeguard the interests of citizens , the protection of you people’s  point of view from this position.

Oliver stone’s “Talk Radio”

The movie “talk radio” is about a cynical sharp-tongued radio host was shot extreme audience the story , the film’s shots were very, very test scheduling capabilities of the script , the whole movie except the few few a location outside of all the action takes place in the radio studio in the building , the moderator of the politics of abortion drugs such sensitive things on the Vietnam War unreserved severely compromise the view never let on to the next station owner to the majority of the audience are on the his love-hate relationship , and it is this love and hate him fame , even large phase and intends to broadcast stations in the country , and he all the more extreme harsh and caused some extreme jealous person , he believes he ‘s sober enough to profound objective viewpoint can alert the world to help them to see clearly the nature of things …… finally told Chinese translation said, he parking lot next to the radio studio building was shot , the irony of this shot is a new radio station became a hot topic ! Perhaps the film can be summed up in one thought people could see the meaning of life caught in a society that simply does not make sense without knowing the story, and the film’s significance may lie in the story itself

Radio Days

Voiceover , one middle-aged man to lead the audience back to his childhood in a small town life , where there are too many interesting stories surrounding the radio broadcast ...... two thieves sneaked into a family of crime happens broadcasting telephone competition a program is selected here , the thief answer all the questions in the next day, the men who returned home and found the prize money and lost but quizzes program has filled the doorway. The movie "Radio Days" makes me feel so warm and miss the old times. That is one of the truths that Woody Allen evokes in "Radio Days," his comedy about growing up in the 1940s. Another one is that glamor and celebrity meant something in those days. For millions of people living in ordinary homes in ordinary neighborhoods, the radio brought images of beings who lived in a shimmering world of penthouses and nightclubs, in dressing rooms and boudoirs.

Ace In the hole and the media today

Kirk Douglas plays a reporter Cukor, because of poor professional reputation, was the New York press marginalized, living to a small town in New Mexico, in a tabloid editor before a naive glib, finding a errand, but no big day, bored to live. One day, out interviews, the way I heard mine together, there is a man trapped in a cave, Cukor given a free hand to change the plans to visit, he was sensitive to the chance to re-energized a name for oneself.

Even by the standards of today’s journalism, as a reporter Cukor-man combat capability is very good, he did not timid in front of a big parade, and control them. But he committed a fatal error is beyond a professional journalist should abide by the bottom line – that is, the “planning” of the entire news event, rather than the outside to set things faithfully recorded and displayed. He successfully put together a little, this can be resolved quickly accidents security, into a pile protracted and even sensational big event, and in this news events from the expansion process, the audience can not only see journalism selfish superficial, quick success, unscrupulous, but you can see a “watch things never too big” society and era.

Mr.Smith goes to Washington and Meet John Doe

Nobody can make an optimistic, feel-good movie like Frank Capra. Mr. Smith GoesToWashington, Meet John Doe and, of course, It’s A Wonderful Life are three of the strongest examples. Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck are ideally cast as the muddled every-man and the audacious, quick-witted reporter. Walter Brennan stands out as Coop’s cynical traveling companion, the Colonel. While the plot is fairly implausible, you can’t help but cheer for Coop and friends. Capra’s strength is that he uses average Joe America to tell his stories. He’s like the Norman Rockwell of moviemaking. The message “this could be you” is received loud and clear. If you’re having a bad day, watch this movie. It will make you feel much better about things.

Park Row

After screening the movie “Park Row”, I was impressed by the development of the newspaper industry in the 1880’s . I really like the description of the competition between two people, some plots of the whole movie seem a little dramatic. Through the movie, I could feel the “freedom of the media in the society” which is claimed by the director Samuel fuller. I heard that this movie is based on a real story. After watching the movie, it can easily tell that the theme of the movie is the claim of the “media news freedom”. In the movie, the leading man Mitchell made some news by himself, like organize people donating money to the Statues of liberty. Apparently, the thing that the director cares more is not the ethic of the news. He thinks in the society at that time, the truthful and the freedom of the news should be the mainstream.

My question is : Which one do you think is more important in today’s journalism? The ethic of the journalism or the freedom ?
