Instructors across the Commonwealth can access teams dedicated to developing multimedia and training users on a variety of multimedia tools. Learn what resources are available and start creating engaging content today!

Media Commons

Media Commons projects can enhance your courses by encouraging students to look at problems and prompts in a different way. Working through the many steps of a multimedia project helps students make further connections with the course content. Writing for multimedia fosters a deeper understanding of content as students pare down information to the essential facts and think about ways to creatively present their content. Students can work in small groups to complete tasks and learn from one another’s experiences.

Media Commons offers consultation on project design and development, in-class training for students and follow up support via reviews of deliverable rough drafts and just-in-time assistance. Faculty can contact a consultant dedicated to their campus and make use of self-serve materials like customizable rubrics.

Maker Commons

Maker Commons offers 3D creation, rapid prototyping and design thinking-based resources across the entire Commonwealth. Maker Commons consultants can work with you to design assignments that are effective, engaging and work within your timeframe. We can also provide resources such as sample projects and rubrics. Consultants will work with you to turn your assignment idea into a training plan and deliverables that ensure learning outcomes are met.
